Adaptive, Dynamic and Agile :: What the Words Mean

In the middle of a fascinating conversation over on Linkedin on how visualize the configuration (design?) of a case management solution for business users, Max Pucher has provided succinct description of the various flavours.

He writes:

the roundtrip refers to the changes that the business users make to the process, data, rules and content during execution, which can be saved as a new template at the end. That is the core functionality of being adaptive. Dynamic is the ability to modify the process or case template for THIS execution but not for the future. Agile usually refers to a design/implement/validate/deploy/monitor bureaucracy.

It’s an elegant categorisation.
